What a transition in me this piece of cloth has brought
Never knew how it would make me feel
Centuries old tradition and a part of a religion
In a land of hats and caps, I still feel proud

It will teach the kids what Sikhs are all about
Respect for other religions and good wishes for all
In God we trust with no fear at all
Earn honest living and share food with all

Spirituality alone won’t take you far
Need to defend freedom and justice for all
With a turban on the head
Seek high spirit and keep fighting for weak

A gift from the Guru
Wear it with pride
Stand out in the World
No need to hide
