Which society or country is better equipped during War?

Which society or country is better equipped during War? And, why?

a) One with Better Intelligence
b) One with Better Weapons
c) One with Better Ethics and social values
d) All of the above
e) None of the above

Don't ask me why, but thoughts just came to me and I decided to post it as a question.

I can't choose from the answers listed because the question, in my mind, isn't straigh forward. This question involves too many thoughts. The context for determining 'better equipped,' could be infinite. Also this question brings to mind war and countries. I could only ever imagining fighting a war for justice not country. In which case I would think the only equipped army is the Khalsa. Doesn't matter what anybody else has.

I'd have to say.. all of the above...
> Better ethics:
I remember watching the schwarzenegger movie "Colatteral damage".. where unethical acts by one side led to hurt, anger and feelings of revenge in the hearts of innocent people who might have never wanted war in the first place.. And these people then went of to inflict pain and attrocities on the 'innocent civilians' of the attacking country. So, the one with better ethics and socal values should (hopefully) be able to make a distinction when planning war.

> Better intelligence:

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred."

The famous Lord Tennyson poem, "Charge of the light bridage" depicted how the blunder of the commanding officer led to the whole brigade of 600 men dying.
My uncles(both maternal and paternal) have held ranks in the military. I, for one.. with my limited knowledge, have no clues about warfare :o). I'm including this option only after having seen movies.. e.g. BraveHeart and The Patriot. The protagonist is shown as "better equipped" by using intelligence when fighting war.

> Better Weapons: I guess when fighting an open 'non-gorrila' kind of war, better weapons would give an egde :-\

Whew, That's the longest comment I must have left of Anyone's blog.. and not even a very intelligent one at that, Ha!
Sincerely,
Abhi

singhni ji- the picture are great! Brings back childhood for me.

Shinda sahib- one with the most heart! I like that. Afterall, love is the greatest weapon of all.

Prabhu ji- you are correct about the man made borders and wars. I was just going to say country only before, but added society since some societies like Sikhs, Bahais etc do not have a nation of their own.

Gurinder Ji - You are back! It is glad to hear from you after a long break. It is funny, I visited your blog a few days ago to see any posts, but didn't see any. Khalsa! yes! Afterall, that is the purest of the pure, a human society will ever get to in an ideal world.

Abhijit Ji - what made you change your life style? Please share your experience with us. You may have a post, but I haven't checked out your blog completely yet.

And, on the question, It is a hard one for me as well. I would have to kind of agree with Shinda Ji little bit about showing heartfelt love, but as bloddy Sikh history and other histories like that of Tibet take over by China, early Christians, Bahais are evident love and peace alone won't get you freedom but a saint-warrior balance is important. I was going to put faith in God as one of the answers as well, but thought it is kind of given.

Also, went to see the Spinning Wheel Sikh Film Festival today with kids. I had tears thru some of the movies. It was great. Please support the festival organizors, makers etc. These were some creative work of art.

Without emotional mix-up, I'd say that the country with most intelligence will no doubt have the edge. That is the primary need for all success.

Love your thoughtful reply Khalsa@cisco!

well, i would go for none of the above and will vote for the country with strong economic fundamentals. Modern wars are fought on economic parameters.
See around and we find it happening.

Jas Ji, I believe too that war is not a solution and tendency of every human being on this earth is to live a peaceful life. Thanks!

Pritam Ji,

Nihangs do indeed inspire people. As a kid I was always fascinated with their bana, swords, and gatka. And, stories of Niahang bravery are like numerous.
